Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation (WINN) Act Passes U.S. House
Legislation includes Blum amendment to expedite Cedar Rapids flood protection
The House of Representatives today passed the Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation (WINN) Act of 2016 that includes Congressman Rod Blum’s bipartisan amendment calling on the Administration to expedite the Cedar Rapids flood protection project that was authorized by Congress in 2014. WIIN passed with strong bipartisan support, with 360 yes votes and 61 no votes.
“The successful passage of WIIN that includes our Cedar Rapids amendment is another positive step in our ongoing work to encourage the Administration to prioritize the Cedar Rapids flood protection project,” said Congressman Blum. “With two major floods in just 8 years, it is clear that this project is vital to protecting the Cedar Rapids community and I hope the Administration acts quickly to fund the project that Congress has now approved twice.”
